Generative Art

The Blood Cube

Blood Cube is a meticulously crafted particle simulation featuring one million individual particles behaving as a viscous red fluid, contained within the rigid boundaries of a transparent cube. The fluid dynamics have been precisely tuned through custom force animations and a sophisticated color lookup table, resulting in hyper-realistic liquid behavior that captures the dense, visceral qualities of blood. Each particle has been individually calibrated for properties like surface tension, viscosity, and light interaction, creating an unsettling yet mesmerizing display of contained fluid motion that walks the line between scientific visualization and abstract art.

Digital Transmutation

Digital Transmutation subverts the intended use of audio software to create visual art through deliberate digital manipulation. By converting photographs into audio frequencies and editing them in Audacity (a program never meant for image creation) the resulting spectrogram output reveals a glitchy, distorted interpretation of the original images. This piece explores how creative misuse of audio tools can generate unexpected visual artifacts, embracing the digital distortion that emerges when data is forced to cross between visual and sonic forms.

Pi = 4

A simple exploration of what happens when the value of Pi is changed.

The Rainbow Pill

Rainbow Pill is a dynamic digital artwork that merges organic form with spectral light, featuring a textured oval surface that diffuses an ever-rotating rainbow pattern. The gentle roughness creates a frosted glass-like effect, softening the underlying colors as they shift and flow, while the continuous rotation transforms the static form into a living object. This interplay between the synthetic perfection of the digital rainbow and the imperfect, almost tactile quality of the roughened surface creates an intriguing tension, suggesting something between a pharmaceutical capsule and a precious opal.

Resonant Void

Resonant Void explores the subtle interplay of darkness through a pulsating digital organism. Written in GLSL, this shader piece features a central sphere that emanates rhythmic, tubular forms reminiscent of cymatics patterns formed by sound waves. These undulating structures emerge and recede in near-total darkness, creating a hypnotic dance of barely perceptible movement. The piece plays with the viewer’s perception, revealing complex geometric forms only through minute variations in black-on-black, where shadow becomes substance.

Tesseract

Tesseract is a mesmerizing digital sculpture created in Shaderpark that plays with recursive depth and spatial perception through a series of nested cubes that spiral infinitely inward. Each iteration shrinks and rotates with increasing intensity, creating a hypnotic vortex effect reminiscent of a four-dimensional tesseract unfolding in space. As viewers interact with the piece through mouse movement, the entire structure responds fluidly, with inner cubes amplifying the rotation dramatically, creating a cascading chain reaction that challenges our understanding of depth and dimensional space.

In the Grass

In the Grass is a generative artwork that captures the mesmerizing dance of grass in a breeze through thousands of procedurally placed lines that sway and ripple in unison. Created using feedback loops and instance geometry, the piece achieves a natural, organic movement that mimics the complex patterns of wind flowing across a meadow. Each blade responds to an invisible force, creating waves of motion that cascade across the field, while subtle variations in the feedback system ensure that no two moments of movement are identical, presenting an endless, ever-changing portrait of nature’s rhythmic choreography.

Animated Rug Design

This is a mesmerizing fusion of traditional carpet artistry and modern physics simulation, featuring an intricately animated rug design that ripples and flows through space. The piece marries classic geometric patterns and ornate motifs characteristic of traditional textile crafts with sophisticated cloth dynamics, creating an impossible artifact where ancient design tradition meets digital fluidity. As the fabric undulates, the carefully recreated pattern maintains its cultural authenticity while gaining new life through motion, transforming a historically static medium into a breathing, dynamic form.

Animated Transit Textile

Transit Textile is a digital exploration of movement and pattern, combining fabric simulation with animated textures inspired by the distinctive upholstery designs found in public transportation. The piece merges the nostalgic geometric patterns of bus and train seats with realistic cloth physics, creating an undulating surface that breathes and flows. Despite being a first venture into fabric simulation, the work captures the characteristic waves and folds of textile movement while the animated pattern adds a playful layer of familiarity, transforming a mundane commuter reference into a hypnotic meditation on collective memory and material behavior.
